OnlyFans video editor jobs: clips, Reels and what they pay
An OnlyFans video editor mostly doesn't edit explicit content. Most of the 65 open vacancies are for short safe-for-work clips that bring fans to a page from Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts, and a typical advert pays from $500 a month or from $3.00 an hour. It is remote work that suits someone who already cuts short-form video, and the skill that gets you hired is keeping viewers watching, not knowing the adult industry. Below: the types of job, the pay, what a test edit should show, and the practical traps that are specific to this field.

What an OnlyFans video editor actually does
Job titles vary, and they hide different work. Reading the adverts, four kinds come up:
- Short-form editor. Takes a shoot or a phone clip and turns it into Reels, TikToks and Shorts: a hook in the first seconds, captions, trending sound, several versions of one idea. This is the largest group, and the clip is usually posted by someone else.
- Clipper. Cuts clips and often posts them too, sometimes to their own accounts. Part of the pay may depend on views, so this is closer to marketing than to editing.
- Long-form editor. Longer videos for YouTube, OFTV or a creator's own page: interviews, vlogs, behind the scenes.
- Teaser and paid-content editor. Trims and packages content sold on the page, plus trailers for it. This is the one type where you do see explicit material, and a good advert says so openly.
In small teams these roles merge. Several adverts combine editing with posting, which is really the OnlyFans virtual assistant job with a timeline attached. Check what share of the day goes to each, because a VA's pay for an editor's workload is a common mismatch.
OnlyFans video editor salary and how the work is paid
What the adverts of the last 90 days offered:
| Pay | Typical offer | Upper quarter |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | from $500 | from $880 |
| Hourly | from $3.00 | — |
| Share of revenue | 18% | 29% and up |
These are starting figures, and each is the lowest number the advert states. Many offers are per video or per clip and don't fit the table, so turn them into an hourly rate before you compare. An invented example: $5 a clip sounds thin, but at three clips an hour it is $15 an hour. At one clip an hour, with revisions, it is $5.
Pay per view needs a harder look. Across the wider clipping market, not only adult, one guide to clipping rates lists $0.20 to $6 per 1,000 verified views on Whop campaigns, averaging near $1. It comes from a clipping tool's own site, so treat it as an indication. It also describes the catches: a campaign's budget can run out before your views are verified, the tracker's count wins a dispute, and a ban before payout loses unverified views. If an adult advert pays by views, ask who counts them, what the cap is, and whose accounts carry the risk. A full-time wage with a view bonus is a better deal than views alone while you are starting.
Rules that decide what you can post
The clip has to survive the platform, or the work is wasted. Meta's adult nudity and sexual activity standard bans visible genitals and, with few exceptions, visible female nipples, along with explicit or implied sex. Near-nudity and sexual dancing may be limited to adult viewers, which hurts reach even when the clip stays up. In practice, editors learn to sell mood, personality and humour rather than skin, and to avoid text that points at the paid page too bluntly. Which accounts and links get used is the traffic manager's decision. How that job works is explained in OnlyFans traffic manager jobs, and it is worth reading because good editors move into it.
Tools and how to handle the footage
Adverts usually ask for CapCut, Premiere Pro or similar, and you rarely need anything expensive. DaVinci Resolve has a free version for Mac, Windows and Linux. CapCut is fine for safe-for-work clips, but read the terms before using it for anything explicit: its terms of service, updated in April 2026, bar pornographic material and take a broad licence on what you upload.
Cloud storage is the less obvious problem. Google Drive's policy says not to distribute sexually explicit material, and Dropbox's acceptable use policy covers "otherwise indecent" material. A shared folder can simply stop working, so ask the agency how raw footage reaches you. For anything explicit, keep it on an encrypted local drive, delete it when the job ends, and never reuse it in your portfolio without written permission. If you are ever unsure about someone's age or consent in the footage, stop and refuse the job.
How to pass the test edit
Most employers want to see a sample, and strong candidates make that easy:
- Show a three-clip portfolio. Short-form, safe for work, with view numbers if you have them. Clips from other niches, such as fitness or lifestyle, count.
- Open with the hook. Reviewers often decide within seconds, so put your best clip first.
- Send a few variations of one clip. Agencies test hooks, and an editor who offers different openings saves them work.
- Ask about the brief. Target audience, tone and platform in writing, and how many rounds of revisions are included.
- Limit unpaid tests. One short clip is reasonable. Several finished clips for free may just be free content, a pattern close to the unpaid trials in chatter agency scams. Send your sample with a watermark, in lower resolution, until you are paid.
Agree the payout day, the method and the number of clips in writing before you start. The openings on OnlyFans jobs and on the photo and video page are also worth a look if you can shoot as well as edit.

Questions
How much does an OnlyFans video editor make?
A typical advert in the last 90 days starts from $500 a month or $3.00 an hour. Many offers pay per clip, so work out the hourly rate yourself, including revisions.
Do OnlyFans video editors work with explicit content?
Often not. Most vacancies are for safe-for-work clips for Instagram, TikTok and Shorts. Teaser and paid-content editing does involve explicit material, and the advert should say so before you apply.
What is a clipper in OnlyFans marketing?
A clipper cuts short clips and often posts them too, sometimes for pay based on views. Ask who counts the views, what the cap is and who owns the accounts.
Can I become an OnlyFans video editor without adult industry experience?
Yes. Short-form editing skills carry over from other niches, and employers mostly judge your portfolio. Fitness, lifestyle or creator clips show the same skill.
What software do OnlyFans video editors use?
Adverts commonly name CapCut and Premiere Pro. DaVinci Resolve has a free version. Check a tool's terms before putting explicit footage into it.
